The summer cruise for 2008 was bound for
Southern Ireland. The cruise "started" on the Friday evening, with a meeting in the clubhouse of most participants. Assembled for the trip were: Genesis (Glen and Carolyn) Abraxas (Derek and Carol) Sarico (Dave and Georgina) Alfresco (Colin & Alison) Osprey (Lee, Tim & Tom) Synergy (John and Susan) Snowbird (Paul & Jen, Barry & Jonquil) Winfarthing (Bob and Carol) - but only for part of the cruise Thurlwood (Paul and partner) Caretta (Ray & Polly) We chatted generally about the intentions and decided Porth Dinllean followed by a longer trip to Wicklow on Sunday was the best option. Given the tides, it would be a mid Saturday afternoon kick-off. There were a lot of boats taking part, so there would inevitably be logistical problems in squeezing that many into some small ports. However, the large group soon split up, taking many different routes - just as well considering. So for a period of two weeks, most Eastern Irish ports had a Venturer or two present!
