After a long 4 day bank holiday Easter weekend of glorious weather, we were finally able to be put on the beach on Monday morning.  We had engaged Trefor Hughes at the last moment to repair the damage to our hull, and he had got up early to complete the job.  And a perfect job it was too!

I took a short break from work to see Genesis being lifted and dumped onto the beach:

We were placed on the beach, eventually to be joined by Abraxas:

The Abraxans floated off first and moved away with their kedge anchor:

We didn't bother with any anchors but we were confident we'd be okay, given the weather conditions (there was no weather to speak of - just sunshine).

As we motored ourselves off the beach we did a quick check on Sarico as requested by the Saricans who were concerned they had not a night on her after launching:

Anyway, all was OK so we went over to our lovely new stainless steel mooring and job done in half an hour, all at lunchtime!

 Lessons Learned

  • You don't need a back anchor to launch off the beach if the weather is calm enough.
