We had originally prepared the boat to launch on Saturday April 1st, but very
heavy wind and rain (hailstones in fact) prevented us. Stan was adamant he would
wreck the boat if he attempted a cradle lift!
The weather at 1300 on 6 April in the morning was quite dismal – 25 knots of
wind and SW.
However there was some fair weather predicted for 1600. We cancelled the launch
with Stan.1600 arrived and the wind had dropped to 6 knots at mast level, with broken
cloud. Stan was available and quickly organised a cradle lift direct into the
sea at high tide.
The engine was a bit reluctant at first but eventually kicked into life and got
going.
We motored to the mooring, pumped the dinghy up and returned ashore. By this
time it was pouring with rain but still calm.
